cris-rose-1

Cris Rose is definitely one of my favorite artists. His style is just amazing! Lately he’s been making resin robots with nature on their minds and I’m loving them. They’re fantastic!

His latest robot is “The Wandering Memorial”.

“By the year 2138, over population of the planet meant that a much greater number of people needed to fit in the same space. With the cities overcrowded, one of the first things to disappear was England’s graveyards.

So it was that the Wandering Memorial was created. Two metric tones of prime English soil encased in an autonomous walking robot. The Wandering Memorial would slowly walk from one city to another and anyone that wanted to morn need only wait for it to visit their area, and one by one they would be lifted up by it’s arms and deposited into it’s climate controlled dome.” Read more Here.

When I envision this world filled with Wandering Memorials, I hear Sigur Ros’ song Untitled #1 (Vaka) playing in the background.

Jasin Dollin has just come out with a sweet vinyl boombox! Lil’g (short for “Little Ghettoblaster”) is a vinyl Boom Box with the capability to play your MP3 player. It is a soft vinyl that is made for customization (DIY-Do it yourself). You can paint, draw, cover with stickers or anything else you can imagine! Lil’g is just waiting to be decked out, pimp’d out or loved just the way Lil’g was made.

Features:

• Color ways - Lil’g comes in three different colors; black, white and pink.
• Portable Boom Box - Lil’g is a portable speaker case for your personal MP3 player.
• Carrying case - Plug in your MP3 player and carry it safely inside Lil’g.
• BPM LEDs - Lil’g’s LEDs light up and bounce to the music that you play.
• Headphone jack - Plug in and listen to your music in private.

I suggest breaking out the Lil’g with some Dj Format ft J5, some cardboard, some furry outfits and remake one of my favorite videos.

endangered

Dunny Endangered! Animal instincts are sharper than ever in the limited edition hyper series, Dunny Endangered! by Kidrobot. Featuring 15 designs (and 2 chases) by 13 incredible artists. They came out May 21st and are going extinct fast!

I like the Lion, the Racoon, the Fox, the Owl and the Pig (he comes with a chainsaw.)

Check out this short stop motion video that was made for this series.

And while you’re at it, do you remember this video by Green Jelly called “Three little pigs”?

Haha! So good! I liked this video back in ‘93. It’s a cool claymation rendition of the classic fairy tale with modern twists, such as pot-smoking pigs, an appearance by Rambo, and a Harley Davidson-riding wolf.

Tear Drips Travis Lampe toys vinyl Rotofugi art

Travis Lampe did an exhibit with Rotofugi Gallery back in December 2007 called Fantasy Cryland. One of the things Travis did for the exhibit were these amazing little hand-stitched and hand-painted pieces he called “Tear Drips.”  Inspired by Travis’ creations, Rotofugi and Squibbles Ink immediately approached Travis into letting them make his art into vinyl toys.

On Thursday May 21st, you can get your hands on these little sad guys. The “Tear Drips Series 1″ by Travis Lampe has a total of 12 designs and will be blind boxed.

Travis has a very unique style to his work. His illustrations are cartoonish, colourful, cute and full of emotions. He likes to put faces on everything. One of my favorite resin art toys that he made was “Accidental Mishap”. It’s a sad unicorn crying for his broken rainbow.

Here’s a cute video that you may remember watching as a child.

WARNING! MAY CAUSE TEARS!

I don’t know about you, but I sure got excited when I heard the lead-off single Kinda Like A Big Deal by The Clipse feat. Kanye West. I was also excited to find out that the artist KAWS added his iconic art style to the single cover and that he’s set to create the album artwork for the new album“Til the Casket Drops”, set for release late this summer.

Check out this video as it profiles the artist known as KAWS, former Graffiti (tag) artist turned painter and designer of limited edition toys and clothing. It also features some cool clips of KAWS’ art displayed in Pharrell Williams’ Miami Home and Kanye West’s 808s & Heartbreak cover and billboard.
