FAQ

Please see below for instructions on how to use the site & answers to some FAQ:

1. How do I listen to TheHype.FM Radio?

- Low Quality Stream (for slow internet) - to listen to the low quality stream, click on “Low” below “Launch Stream” to launh the .mp3 stream of our station. Since it is a slower connection, it may take up to 20 seconds to play audio, and will launch in your browser or media player depending on how your preferences are set.

- High Quality Stream (for fast internet) - to listen to the high quality stream, click on “High” below “Launch Stream” to launch the custom player in a new window. You may need to download Microsoft Silverlight (download here) to use the player, but this is only a 1x download, and allows us to stream higher quality music using less bandwidth.

- Mobile Stream - to listen to the mobile stream (free of charge), click on “Mobile Phone” below “Launch Stream” using your Blackberry, iPod, or other supported device. This stream is hosted through Flycast, and will require you to install a free app (1x only) on your phone.

2. None of the above work for me, is there another way to listen to TheHype.FM Radio?

- Yes, a desktop app, made available through Flycast, also allows you to stream TheHype.FM from the desktop of your Mac or PC. You can download the program here and TheHype.FM can be streamed, free of charge, by navigating the following sequence upon launch: Sign In -> Genre Guide -> Dance/Electronica -> Electronica -> (scroll down) TheHype.FM -> Enjoy!

3. How does TheHype.FM 24 Hour TV work?

- It’s easy, you can either watch whatever is streaming from our home page, or click the TV icon to pull up a full screen view; complete with chat, live stream, and the option to watch our self hosted on-demand videos & interviews.

4. I really want to be a part of TheHype.FM, how can I?

- Currently we are not taking any new DJs on, but if you would like to be considered in the future, definitely reach out to us and make sure you have our badge displayed on your page (see #5). If you are interested in writing, please let us know asap. Both emails can be directed to contact@thehype.fm.

5. Can you add me to your list of affiliates?

- Sure! All we ask in return is that you add the following graphic link or code provided somewhere on your sidebar or webpage, and we’ll be more than happy to link back, just make sure you send us a pre-approved image to put on our page.
